Do you remember what it was like to sit in that dentist chair getting a cavity filled? Bacteria exist in our mouths. They are natural and as a result do not cause our teeth direct harm. Dental caries, more commonly known as tooth decay is the result of a poor diet, not bacteria. A hole can develop in your teeth from a lack of nutrients in your diet. When a dentist fills a cavity, the root cause of tooth decay, your diet, is not addressed. This means that future teeth cavities might happen.

Tooth decay is not a suddenly occurring event. It occurs due to eating a diet low in vitamins and minerals. Eating sugar rich foods (such as soda, candy, and even fruits and vegetables) alters our blood sugar levels temporarily. Frequent consumption of too many sugars causes minerals to be pulled from your teeth and bones. So timely cavity treatment should be done.

Five years ago my daughter’s teeth were also started to crumble apart. Rather than subject her to painful dental treatments, I sought to find what really causes tooth cavities.
